Hatteras-Ocracoke Ferry is free, operates first come-first serve (no reservations taken), and the crossing time is about 40 minutes. Bear right on Highway 12 South into the village - about 15 minutes. Howard's Pub is the first business on the right.
Cedar Island-Ocracoke Ferry is a Toll Ferry. The crossing time is 2 hours and 15 minutes. Reservations are recommended.
Swan Quarter-Ocracoke Ferry is a Toll Ferry. The crossing time is 2 hours and 45 minutes. Reservations are recommended.
Insider's Tip:
From June to August, Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays have the fewest number of day trippers. When traveling from the North to the Hatteras-Ocracoke Ferry aim to be in line by 10:00 a.m. to avoid heavy ferry traffic.
