The crew here at Howard's Pub welcomes you to our little corner of paradise.
The Pub caters to everyone; from anglers to honeymooners, locals and visitors, the young and old. Families and large groups are always welcome. The Pub is a great place to bring the aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and all your friends or simply enjoy it by yourself. The dress is comfortable and very casual. Howard’s Pub is open from Early Spring to sometime in late Fall for lunch and dinner. The expansive menu offers fresh local seafood; featuring oysters on the half shell or fried, succulent peel and eat steamed shrimp; char grilled steaks and fish, juicy burgers, salads, sandwiches and more. Our french fries are hand-cut daily from choice Idaho potatoes; and our chowder and other soups are made each day. The same menu is served all day long so you can satisfy your appetite with a variety of offerings, whether it be a starter of buffalo shrimp, oyster rockefellers or fried pickles; or an entree such as a seafood platter with steamed broccoli, mac and cheese or any of the other side dishes. Kids meals are served on take home Frisbees.
The décor is sprinkled with college pennants, licenses plates from all over the world and a vast collection of neon lights. Televisions are located throughout the restaurant and familiar tunes provide a jovial atmosphere. In addition to the main air-conditioned dining room there is a large airy screened porch with ceiling fans. Or you can sit along the expansive wooden bar and sip on one of the 12 draft offerings from North Carolina or beyond in a frosty pint glass, imbibe with a speciality cocktail or savor a nice glass of wine Enjoy the sky deck with your favorite beverage while soaking in a panoramic view of the island, including the sound and ocean from afar. Howard’s Tower offers an enclosed view of the island and a quieter place to socialize with friends. The Pub shop offers a wide selection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, glassware and Pub memorabilia.
Plenty of parking is available for bicycles, golf carts and cars. The Pub is an easy walk from the village or hop on the island tram when available in the summer. So come see us, sit back, relax and slip into what we call the “Ocracoma”!
